Greece Also known as Hellas, is an ancient wonder of myth, history, and modern culture. It is an archeologist's dream, a foodie's paradise of delights for the palate, a modern and ancient cultural enjoyment, and ever present beauty, as it's landscapes, islands, and architecture capture moments to ember in your mind and soul forever.
Greece is steeped deep in ancient history, with an overwhelming amount of  it's archeological sites being dedicated to Ancient gods, goddesses. heroes, and
earliest teachers.  Many of these heroes, were from stories passed down from almost 3000 years ago. However, this Journey is one that is a remembrance of a Hero of Greece, that was from a far off land and fell in love with the people, culture, history, and romance of Greece...
Lord Byron
Byron known for many things like, his hedonistic lifestyle, his amazing writings, great many loves,  political career, and world travels. In Greece, he set aside his previously hedonistic-leaning lifestyle to be a true military leader, for the Greeks during the Greek war for Independence.  In the face of factionalism and military ineptitude, Byron came into his own as a Spartan-like leader, training his troops valiantly and subsidizing the Greek cause despite being a foreigner. He would have spent every last dime to help them achieve their independence. Tragically he died in 1824, due to a case of   extreme sickness  and bloodletting. Due to his efforts,  he is known to the Greeks as a great war hero.
This year is the 200th anniversary of his passing.
