Clothing
We are going on shoulder season, so be prepared for 15 to 26 Celsius weather (60 to 80 F). this means a light (suggested waterproof jacket) as well as lighter clothes for the warmer weather.
Greece isn't overly conservative, but as you are a goodwill ambassador for your country and for NES, and it is always good to be on the more conservative side of what is acceptable while abroad, the beaches are a different matter. While you will see people wearing all different outfits in town, (including other Greeks) remember they are not you, and just because someone else chooses to ignore respect doesn't mean you should. Plus don't point yourself out as a target, keep in mind you don't want to be treated as a tourist, you want to dive into the culture. Therefore short shorts and mini skirts are never a great idea when traveling abroad, plus you nay go into churches which require shoulders covered (a scarf works for women in a pinch) and no shorts above the knee, (below the knee is still frowned upon, but still happens.)
Things that are acceptable:
Monasteries- Longer pants, and a shirt with shoulders covered or a scarf to cover shoulders is a good idea.
The Tourist Zones -
Capris - Generally no issues for normal days exploring
Sleeveless shirts are okay as well as Shorts down to the knee are okay as well while in larger towns or in tourist zones, but keep in mind if we visit churches or monasteries, and shoulders must be covered and shorts are frowned upon
Ruin sites – Hiking shoes, longer pants or a longer skirt are best, suggested that you wear lightweight black, gray, or navy are good color choices because you can wear them with anything, and are forgiving with the dust from archaeological sites.
Beaches – Most beaches are pretty open, so you can be as conservative or liberal as you want, even speedos, thongs, bikinis are okay. A cover up for women and a pair of shorts and shirt or rashie for men is good to bring in case we go to lunch on the beach.
Always acceptable - Long pants or a medium to long skirt especially for nicer dinners depending on the restaurant, visiting someone's house, or a religious site.
T-shirts - are okay to wear for the most part, but usually less breathable.
In all cases lightweight quick drying clothes that dry over night within 8 hours are best,
