Journey Classifications
Each Journey has a different Itinerary and some are more difficult than others, whether it is the adventure to get there, the challenge of the activities, the remoteness of the location, the rarity of the Journey, the interaction with the local culture, or the divergence of your order, determines the Classification of the Journey.
The Nomad Explorers Society will determine one of 5 classifications for Nomad and Self Journeys, and for each Nomad Journey a different "key" will be rewarded for each. Self Journeys will be for your self growth, however they will play a part in your Order and Degree. All Classifications paired with your Order will combine to determine your advancement to higher Member Degrees.
For example, a Trekker Journey with Classification 3 for a member who is of the Seafarer Order will gain much more of a consideration for advancement than it would be for a Member of the Trekker Order. But all Journeys will still play a part in your advancement.
Below is a list of examples for each classifications, these are only guidelines and the Nomad Council votes will determine each Journey individually, since each Journey involves different activities, levels of difficulty. and how deep of travel.
Note most packaged trips outside of Nomad, many cruises, and most North America "vacations" are not considered Nomad trips, but again it depends on the activities involved, and does play a part in advancement. So always send in a Self-Journey sheet for each Travel.
