Lost City of the Incas
Journey 2022
__________________________________________________________
Peru is a land filled with wonders and adventures for every heart's desire. From staying on floating villages on one of the highest lakes of the world, Lake Titiqaqa, the mysterious Nazca Lines really only truly visible from a small plane above them, seeing the ancient Peruvian mummies in there graves, drinking hot wine in beautiful colonial city of Arequipa, exploring the Rainforest and Amazon river while swimming in piranha and crocodile rivers, or the "Peruvian Galapagos" of Paracas where penguins and a prehistoric Geoglyph reside. You could spend months exploring all Peru has to offer.
However, for many one thing that comes to mind for Peru is the Lost City of the Incas, a 15th-century Inca citadel that sits perched high up in the mountains, deep in Peru, traditionally accessed through a small town in a cloud forest, which itself is accessed generally by a 5 hour train ride, or a multi-day trek, which was rediscovered in the 20th century by Hiram Bingham III, a fellow Explorer and member.
